Interview with Sage: Paws, Clues, and a Little Cat Love!
Me: Sage, how did you help Autumn Parker, the cozy mystery Get Witch Quick Scheme, investigate those suspicious traveling witches at the Full Moon Festival?
Sage: Well, Autumn is my person, you know, and I always look after her. So, I put my nose to work! I sniffed around every booth, poked my head into baskets, and squeezed into all sorts of little spaces. If Autumn was going to solve this mystery, I was going to help her every step of the way. Or paw-step, as the case may be!
Me: Did you find any clues she might have missed?
Sage: [Proudly lifts his chin.] Oh, yes! I squeezed behind a stack of potion bottles, peered under suspicious boxes, and crept beneath a tablecloth while everyone chatted away. Then I spotted something interesting and hurried to get Autumn’s attention. A little paw tap here, a loud MRRRROW there, and finally she came to see what I’d found. I do love it when she catches on!
Me: What did you think of those colorful potions?
Sage: [Sniffs the air, whiskers twitching.] Very curious smells! I gave those bottles a good sniff, then looked up at Autumn with my best something isn’t quite right face. She knows that face. Well, she does now! I just wanted to make sure she stayed safe.
Me: What’s your favorite part of being Autumn’s detective partner?
Sage: Easy! Being by her side. I like following her around, helping her discover things, and curling up beside her when the investigating is done. Though, if she happens to reward a hard-working cat with a treat or two or three, I certainly won’t complain. [Purrs loudly.]
Me: Any final advice for solving a mystery, Sage?
Sage: Follow your nose, look in all the little places humans forget, and stick close to the people you love. Oh, and don’t forget to take a nap now and then. A clear head and a warm lap can work wonders!
