Interview with DeeDee Carey the nosy across-the-street neighbor from the Oscar the Doxie Detective series.
Welcome to our special interview segment featuring the one and only DeeDee Carey, the self-appointed watchdog of the Happy Hills community. Known for her keen eye and even keener opinions, DeeDee brings a unique perspective on the neighborhood’s quirkiest resident, Oscar, the Doxie Detective. Today, we dive into DeeDee’s thoughts about Oscar, whom she doesn’t hesitate to call a pest and a troublemaker.
Interviewer: Welcome, DeeDee. It’s great to have you here today. Let me ask the question everyone wants to know: What do you think of Oscar the Doxie Detective?
DeeDee Carey: Oh, darling, where do I even start? That little wiener dog is nothing but trouble on four tiny legs. It’s like he’s on a constant mission to turn Happy Hills upside down.
Interviewer: Really? I thought he was a hero in the community. Can you elaborate on your perspective?
DeeDee Carey: snorting with laughter Hero? More like a pest. I mean, who else digs through my garden looking for “clues”? I’ve lost enough roses to his snout to start my own black market flower trade. That dog has a nose for mischief, I tell you.
Interviewer: Sounds like you have a bit of a rivalry going on. What has Oscar done that you consider troublesome?
DeeDee Carey: leans in Let me give you a scoop. Last week, I was tending to my prize-winning Bird of Paradise when Oscar decided it was his personal sniffing ground. Next thing I know, he’s chasing a roadrunner, barking like a lunatic, and I have half the neighborhood thinking I’m hosting a canine circus. Good heavens, it’s a miracle my front yard survived at all.
Interviewer: Wow. That sounds chaotic. How does the community feel about Oscar, then?
DeeDee Carey: Oh, they’re smitten. “Look at Oscar, he’s so clever,” they coo. Clever? I call it a nuisance. He’s supposed to be solving crimes, not creating more. Last I checked, “watering” a neighbor’s prickly pear cactus isn’t a detective skill.
Interviewer: Fair point. Do you think there’s any redeeming qualities in Oscar?
DeeDee Carey: sighs dramatically I guess if there’s one thing Oscar does well, it’s keeping things interesting. I never knew how many late-night neighborhood watch meetings could be sparked by a dog watering a neighbor’s prickly pear cactus, if you get my drift. Maybe he has some sort of charisma if you can see past the chaos.
Interviewer: So perhaps he’s a menace, but also a bit of a celebrity in Happy Hills?
DeeDee Carey: With a smirk A celebrity nuisance, if you will. If I didn’t have my neighbor watch and the couponer’s club to distract me, I might just write a tell-all called The Doxie Dilemma, but who would believe a nosy neighbor like me, right?
Interviewer: Ha. It sounds like that would be quite a read. Thank you for sharing your insights, DeeDee. Here’s hoping for some peace in Happy Hills.
DeeDee Carey: Thank you. I’ll be keeping an eye on Oscar; he’s up to something, I just know it.
